About performance
From the Creators of Tony Award-Winning Ragtime: A Man of No Importance
Step into 1960s Dublin, where an amateur theater group and their passionate leader, bus conductor Alfie Byrne, bring Oscar Wilde’s Salome to life against all odds. A Man of No Importance weaves a heartfelt tale of courage, love, and the transformative power of theatre.
From the acclaimed creators of Ragtime, this evocative and award-winning musical delves into themes of identity, acceptance, and artistic defiance, echoing the bold spirit of Broadway itself. A story about friendship and redemption, it celebrates the enduring impact of theater for a man who proves he is anything but unimportant.
A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com
“SIMPLY IMPECCABLE… shines with understated excellence… compulsively funny, emotionally searing… what a treat.” — Charles McNulty, Los Angeles Times
“TRANSPORTING…. MUST-SEE THEATRE… the kind of mesmerizing musical that captures your spirit and gives you something to think about as well.” — Anita W. Harris, LA Theatrix
“AMUSING AND POIGNANT… the entire cast is excellent… clever staging… make sure you bring tissues.” — Karen Salkin, It’s Not About Me
“BOTH THOUGHT-PROVOKING AND TOE-TAPPING… a bold, of the moment, highly entertaining production… Don’t let its title fool you; this Man of No Importance is an important work of — as Alfie would put it — ‘art.’ Bravo!.” — Ed Rampell, Hollywood Progressive
“QUIETLY EXTRAORDINARY… emotional depth… musical theatre is not just about what characters say or do. It is about what they can only sing.” — Michael M. Landman-Karny, Stage And Cinema
